Spring has Sprung, let the frenzy begin
The first Floral Observer of 2023 and the first big riso breakdown!
It’s truly spring. As I write this flowers are popping open overnight in our front berms. I’m bringing in my first baskets of tender greens. Garden construction projects like our squash tunnel and new fence are nearly complete. We have planted a plethora of berries. Honeyberries, strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, josta berries and currants are all leafing out with tender new growth.
The first fruit of my studio labor is this spring Floral Observer, live and in my hands. I am getting to sit on a warm porch step in the morning with a cup of coffee leafing through the paper. It’s real! In the dark and cold of early March it seemed like a hopeful impossibility to be thinking of this spring project. This issue is printed in violet, turquoise, blue, black and fluorescent orange (one of my favorite inks ever, finally back in the rotation). If you’re not subscribed to Floral Observer you can purchase a copy of the spring paper in our shop.
